The Nationals

This is held every Easter. It's the top competition in Australia 

Some intrepid CPC players ventured to Adelaide for 5 days

And they did well!

Explanations for those unfamiliar with the above

You all know Doubles, Singles and Triples. Open means any gender mix

Qualifying rounds are played to establish a ranking order for all teams

The top 8 teams go into the Principale, the next 8 into the Complimentaire

They then play off usually in a knock out to get the final results

Being placed in the Principale is clearly better than in the Complimentaire

How did CPC do?

Quite well actually - for a club they say doesn't go to many competitions

We are one of just 60 clubs in Australia (1.7%)

We have 100+ of the 1700 players in Australia (5.9%)

We won 7 'medals' out of the 106 given out (6.6%)

We had 3 players win 2 medals out of only 25 who achieved that (12.0%)

I think that's bloody marvellous!! (100%)
