Jazz and Shiraz Night Friday 19 January
Come along for a warm summer evening of petanque accompanied by the cool sounds of Jazz. We’ll provide sausages expertly sizzled for dinner.
Bring a bottle of your favourite shiraz (or other tipple) and BYO dinner if a sausage doesn't tickle your fancy. The evening will follow the usual Friday night format, see you there.

Family and Friends Day
We are opening up the club on Sunday 18 February from 11am to 3pm for members to invite friends and family to come and play petanque.

We’ll have a sausage sizzle - always a favorite with the kids (and the big kids). Bring along friends and family of all ages, grandchildren are especially welcome.

Boules and coches will be provided, however please bring boules for your guests if you can, this will help ensure there is enough equipment for all players.

We will need help from club members on the day: piste coordinators to assist groups get into teams and allocate pistes; sausage sizzlers to keep the food coming and boules monitors to ensure guests are allocated boules (and most importantly that all boules are  sorted and packed away into sets at the end of the day). Please use the button below to volunteer.

If you have any  ideas to help make the day a success, or if you can help on the day,  please call Kathy.

Our pistes need your help
We will be replacing the deteriorating wooden boundaries on the pistes in the next couple of weeks, consequently we need some volunteers to:
Unload the delivery of timber (20 - 30 minutes)
Replace the old timber with the new - we will probably need to do this over a couple of sessions (that’ll take a bit longer)
Come and join in, we always have a bit of fun when we come together to get work done.
Please offer your help emailing Rex .
We’ll be in touch by return email to advise dates and times (we are still working that out).

Friday cards continue
Come and play on the last Friday of every month from 3pm. Have fun, learn how to play, our games masters Leigh, Pam or Deidre are happy to show you how.  As usual, petanque play begins at 5.30  or you can play cards throughout the evening as you wish. The next session is Friday 26th January …a.k.a. Australia Day.

Stay Safe In The Heat

It’s a great time of the year to play petanque but it’s also important to take extra care on those sunny summer days.
Wear closed-toe shoes to avoid injury, this is a mandatory requirement for play.
Stay hydrated
Seek shade (use our new umbrellas), wear a hat and suitable clothing.
Use sunscreen liberally and reapply often.

The Ladder Update

It’s 2024 and we are off to a flying start. Mark R retains his place at the top of the ladder. He is followed by Mary D in 2nd Place, Leigh (3rd), Rex (4th,) and Trish (5th).

Coaching Will Be Back This Year
