Silver Anniversary Celebration Dinner

Our 25th anniversary dinner will be held on 26 July at 6pm. It will be a silver themed evening to celebrate a quarter of a century of the Camberwell Petanque Club. Dress in silver to add even more sparkle.

Expect bubbles on arrival, starting with charcuterie, followed by beef bourguignon (with accompaniments) lovingly prepared by our organising team, finally, there will be some delicious dessert. BYO wine. Because this is an important milestone, this dinner is on the club, however places are limited because we are self catering.

Burbs v Beaches - an all round success

Mt Martha and CPC battled it out on Saturday for the Burbs v Beaches Cup. 24 players from each club gave it their all. The home team came out victorious, but the biggest winners were all the players who came along and had such a warm spirited competition. Sausages and home made soup were provided for lunch supplied by CPC. Home made cakes from Mt Martha for afternoon tea topped off a successful day.

Thanks to the small band of volunteers Kathy, Coleen, Tammi, Wayne and Mick who fed the hungry hoards and organisers Bob and Paul who ensured the day went smoothly.

Friday night informal play on 4 evenings

As per previous newsletter, we are aware that Friday night players requested that formal play continue over winter. However, there will be 4 nights of informal play because we don’t have enough openers over the next few months. These dates are 18 July, 15  & 22 August and 19 September. On these dates, all players share the role of opener and are reminded to:

  • ensure the site is left secure (special attention to the back door which was left unlocked last week)

  • rubbish is removed from the premises

  • appliances are turned off

  • rooms are left clean and tidy

If you are a Friday player and would like to be an opener for these dates please use the button below to contact Faye.

Cards are the perfect winter remedy

Games are held on the last Friday of every month from 3pm. Have fun, learn how to play, our games masters Leigh, Pam or Deidre are happy to show you how. The next cards session is Friday 25 July.
