VALE HOWARD BROWN

VALE HOWARD BROWN

Howard had not been well for some time and we lost him a few days ago.

He was a longstanding member of the Camberwell Petanque Club. He participated actively in our weekly tournaments and also on the pétanque circuit, notable on the annual visit to Avoca, but also in other places as far flung as Hobart. He even scored a trophy at the Australian Championship when it was held at Caulfield.

He was noted for his quirky comments at pre-game lunch whilst avidly following the horse racing results on his phone over a glass of wine.

In recent times he gave his opponents a false sense of security by carrying a chair to sit on between ends and then stand up and throw his boule close to the coche with deadly accuracy.

All of this ably assisted by Sandra.

We will miss him.
