It’s just around the corner, so get in quick to RSVP
Prepare your tastebuds for a delicious Christmas themed spread.
The scrumptious dinner will be provided by the club for members and their partners or plus one. All you have to do is bring along your Christmas good cheer and your favourite tipple.
The evening will include the Ladder draw for 2024 and the announcement of the winners of our Club awards.
Sign up by November 25 to get the best start to next year’s ladder competition
Starting positions will be unveiled at the Christmas party. so sign up by November 25 to make the deadline for the random draw. Of course you can still join after Nov 25 but you will commence at the foot of the ladder.
Here are the rules (and thanks to everyone who contributed their ideas):
Challenges may only be up to 5 places above in the ladder ie the 5 players above you.
Challenge is 1 game up to 13 points. No immediate re challenges apart from top 3.
Challenges to be met within 4 weeks or a walkover.
Players away for more than 2 weeks will drop 1 place per week after that but will be able to re challenge for their place on return (ie away for 10 weeks would fall 8 places so could challenge up to 8 places above in their 1st challenge).
The winner is the ladder leader at close of play on the Saturday prior to the Christmas party
To add even more interest, we will plan some regular “challenge days” to facilitate the competition. Please press the button below to let Bob know that you intend to join in.
You may have noticed that umbrellas that have been permanently fitted along the perimeter of some of the pistes. They are a welcome addition on hot days. Feel free to use them at any time (just make sure the covers are replaced when you are done).
Now that the weather has really warmed up, remember to stay hydrated, seek shade and wear sunscreen.
A trailer and some helpers required
We have been offered some free mulch but require some help to transport it to the club and place it on the garden. Do you have a trailer? Are you handy with a shovel? All offers appreciated.
Please contact Rex using the button below if you can help.

After a hot days play the winners were: Evelyn, Barbi, Antoine, Keven, Rosie and Vinze.
The highest scorer and winner of The CPC Cup (no expense spared) was Antione. Congratulations! For the full story and more pics visit our website
Coaching program completed for the year
The coaching program has finished for the year. One session per month was held between February and November rotating through Wednesday Friday and Saturdays. Participants really benefited from Robert’s knowledge and encouragement. Some of the drills were a real test but they were always fun and the sessions well attended.
The coaching has helped many of our members improve their skills and understanding of the game. Thanks to Robert for making such an important and generous contribution to the club.
Ladder update as of 1 November
Dr Bob has regained the lead for October, we expect some hot challenges for the last month of the competition. You can read up on the format and follow the competition on our website.
Welcome to our new members
.Please say hi our new members Roger and Janine, welcome to our club!
Don’t be that person …. arrive in time to register
If you arrive just in time for play, you are already too late. Please show courtesy to your fellow players and our trusty openers by arriving and registering no later than 15 minutes before games are scheduled to start. This enables play to commence on time and avoids those pesky redraws.
We know life happens, but we also remind members who may have forgotten:
Wednesdays arrive by 10:45 for the first game; Fridays arrive by by 5.15 pm for the first game
Saturdays register by 12:45 for the first game.
Time to talk rubbish
The bins in the kitchen are to be emptied at the end of every day’s play as part of the regular closing process. Please don’t leave garbage for the next group to empty.
Place your waste in the correct bin. If in doubt check the signage. Don’t leave it to the openers and their helpers to sort through garbage at the end of the day … yep it happens …yuck.
