A farewell note from the editor
As many of you know, I will be stepping down as President at the upcoming AGM.
I will also be handing over the club communications to the new committee. Therefore, after more than 45 editions, this will be my last newsletter. I hope you found the newsletters easy to read and informative. The newsletters will continue with a new editor so keep an eye on your inbox.
It has been a pleasure being on the committee over the past 5 years. I would like to express my gratitude to the committee members. They have shown great commitment to our club and have been an effective and fun team to work with.
Thanks to all members for their support, particularly over these past two years when I have been President.
I wish club members and especially the incoming committee all the best,

Annual General Meeting Saturday 5 September
The meeting will start at 11am. Come along to find out about our club’s operations and finances. You can ask questions about these topics, speak about any items on the agenda and vote to:
accept the minutes of the last AGM
accept the annual report
accept the annual financial statements
elect committee members
set membership fees for 2027-28
An official notice of the AGM has been emailed to all members. In true CPC style, pizza will be served after the meeting. Regular play will follow.
Terry and Trish Lifetime Achievement Awards
Congratulations to Terry and Trish on each receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Boroondara Sports Awards. The award recognises their contribution to the club for over 25 years.

Terry and Trish have participated in club life as players and as active committee members including extended periods as President (Terry) and Secretary (Trish). We thank them for their considerable efforts towards making our club the success it is today.

St Andrews 60+ Doubles

When: Saturday 24 October starting 9.30am. Registration by 9.00am. Entry fee: $25pp Where: Ballarat Petanque Club 300 Bradshaw Street Golden Point. See the Flyer here
We all enjoyed the Music Night
Thanks to Leigh and Andy for hosting a fabulous Music Fun Night. Lots of quizzes, games and challenges. And LOTS of singing by members.
We even had a band, our own Pistee Boys & Girl a.k.a. Greg Andy and Bernie who really rocked it!
Triples tournament was a big day for the club
We hosted a very successful Triples Tournament in August. There were 24 teams battling it out in perfect conditions. Congrats to Tammie Ben and Chris from StKilda (pictured), who achieved 3rd place and were our highest performing team.
As a club hosted event, it was also an effective fundraiser.
Thanks to our volunteers we had delicious food for sale, the pistes looked wonderful and the tournament ran smoothly.
Without their help, hosting tournaments would not be possible.
Jolly Roger Friendly Competition with Mt Macedon
The annual Jolly Roger against Mt Macedon was a fun day with friendly camaraderie among all players. We got off to a good start with bacon and egg rolls for brekky (thanks Wayne).
CPC won the trophy, but Mt Macedon were great competitors and excellent sports! The individual top scorer was Rex, closely followed by Robert P. Congratulations. We all had a truly enjoyable day, so everyone was a winner.
Thanks to organiser and scorer Ken, Kathy for planning the catering, and everyone who helped out.
An interesting side note is that our own Paul Williams developed the scoring software used at the tournament. Mt Macedon were so impressed they requested a copy.
