It’s that time again. Come and join the festivities.
December 5th 6.30 for 7pm start.
There will be Bubbles on arrival and a delicious Christmas themed dinner to follow. Our regular helpers Claire and Sam will manage kitchen duties. Be prepared to relax and have a fun night. This is also our Club Awards night when we recognise our members achievements.
Cost $30 pp payable in advance for catering purposes. Let us know if you have any special dietary needs.
The Christmas party is also where we include awards, in various catagories, to members who have shown outstanding contribution to the club and petanque.
We ask you to nominate members for two of these catogories.
They are:
1. Club Person of the Year - A member who makes a significant and outstanding contribution to the Club or to the sport of petanque generally
2. Volunteer of the year. - A member who makes a significant contribution to the Club's operations or social events and good will
Please note: Committee members are not eligble for these awards
Also if you have a great shot of the Club in action? Now's your chance to show it off! We need YOUR eyes behind the lens — action shots, candid portraits, shots from competitions, dramatic close-ups, team celebrations, or that perfect "poetical" moment on the piste.
If it captures the spirit of petanque, we want to see it!
Every entry goes into the running for "Photo of the Month", with all our monthly winners then battling it out for the ultimate prize — "Photo of the Year", crowned live at our Christmas Function! Everyone's welcome to enter. So grab your 'phone or camera, get creative, and get those entries in — the Christmas function is not that far off. Good luck, and happy shooting!
A brilliant turnout to a brilliant evening of fun and games.
Created and hosted to perfection by Leigh and Jet lagged Jenny, the night rolled on with much frivolity and abandon.
At one stage, it looked like Pam was set in the one place for the evening, but it turned out to be Neil who took the cake for the longest losing streak.
A boule carry bag, generously donated by Colin, was won in a game of heads & tails by Bernie in a shootout against Damien. Damien did end up with the bag 'though, as Bernie then gifted it to him.
As usual, and outstanding assortment of snacks, patisseries and savories was made availble by the attending members. A true credit to the talents in food creativity by all involved.
Although the actual winner of the evening's play was Gordana (- CONGRATULATIONS -), everyone came away with a feeling of contentment and good humor, because it was so much fun.
Once again, a BIG THANK YOU to both Leigh and Jenny for their excellent preparation and hosting.
Don't miss out on the next one
