Jazz and Shiraz night

Enjoy an evening of Jazz on Friday the 13th January.

Gates open at 4pm, boules in the bucket. Games start at 5.30. After 2 games, there will be a dinner break. The club will supply a sausage sizzle (bread sausages and onion) or BYO dinner. Third game after dinner and the jazz continues.

Let us know if you are coming by using the RSVP button below. And while you are at it, include your favourite jazz tracks so Rex can add them to the playlist.
BYO Shiraz or tipple of your choice
Fingers crossed for a balmy evening.

Avoid heat related illnesses

It gets hot out there on the pistes. Here are some tips to help you stay safe in the heat:

- Limit outdoor activity to the coolest part of the day
- Protect yourself from the sun, cover exposed skin, use sunscreen and wear a hat.
- Wear light-coloured, loose-fitting clothing made from natural fibres like cotton and linen.
- Wear sunglasses.
- Rest regularly in the shade.
- Carry a water bottle and drink fluids frequently even if you’re not thirsty.
- Eat smaller meals more often and cold meals such as salad.

Climb the club ladder

Here are the top 5 players on the ladder as of 14 December.  (For the full ladder visit our website.)
  1. Guy   2. Vinze   3. Mary D   4. Robert    5. Jenny

Give them a run for their money - you can still join in. Just add your name to the bottom of the ladder next time you are at the club and have a go.

We've tweaked the rules a little. You can challenge anyone on the ladder to increase opportunity for competition and play. Don't forget to send the result of a challenge to Rex to put on website and record in the results book kept alongside ladder or in office. And... for the best bit.. don't forget to move yourself up the ladder if your challenge succeeds.
