New Committee
Thanks to the members who came to the Annual General Meeting. Members agreed to keep the CPC membership fee unchanged. You can read the minutes and annual report
There were changes to the committee this year. Coleen, Greg and Bob stepped down after many years of significant contributions. We thank Coleen for her positive leadership, Greg for managing the club's finances and Bob for his work running tournaments and implementing the intra-club tournaments.
We welcome Wayne as President, Gordon as Treasurer and Rex as a general member. Kathy is now Vice-President. Faye, Rosie and Gordana continue as general members.
CRAZY WHIST NIGHT -Saturday 24th October
Back by popular demand - Crazy Whist night. Saturday 24th October Everyone welcome. Socialising, mind exercise, mingling and fun competition - if you enjoy such things, come along to the Crazy Whist night! Crazy Whist is a card game which involves all participants playing in pairs. Each pair challenges another pair, and then change partners and move to the next game …. Think of rotating partners in progressive barn dance! You will spend the evening playing cards, mingling with various partners and other pairs.
When? Saturday 24th October Where? Camberwell Pétanque Clubhouse Time? 6.45 pm for a 7pm start. What to bring? BYO drinks, and a plate of share finger food for the supper break. How? Leigh G and Jenny W. will organise the evening. The game format will be explained at 7pm - a similar game format to 500 but no need to be an experienced card player, everyone will learn quickly so beginners are welcome too.
Details and RSVP will be in the November Newsletter
In The Kitchen
CONTAINER DEPOSIT BAG Those that have ventured into the kitchen lately may have noticed a bag for capturing containers that can be redeemed for cash . This was placed there by Damien to assist his Scout Association group with funding. Please assist by placing appropriate containers (not wine bottles) in the bag . It is the least we can do for Damien
NEW BINS While we are still in the kitchen, there are also some new recycle and rubbish bins. Please take care to use the correct ones, and remember soft plastics are NOT recyclable. Thanks
Damien Has Been at it Again
We think he comes around in the dead of the night. He is never seen doing it , but magically things that were old and delapitated, the next morning are clean, bright and re-stained. This time it is the bench seating surrounding the pistes. What a magnificent job. Thanks Damien. Very much appreciated.
