Your chance to be on TV

The Postcards crew is coming to CPC on Tuesday 5 August from 11am to 12.30pm. Postcards is a local travel show, featuring things to do and places to go in Victoria.

They are filming a segment on Things to do in Camberwell and are featuring our club, thanks to Pam and her showbiz connections.

To help create a bit of petanque  pizzazz, please come along and play some informal games for the filming. The final story about CPC will only be 90 seconds long, so there is no need to do anything special or wear anything different from usual. Please be aware that the clubrooms will be occupied by Days for Girls  so we can’t access the building  (except for bathroom visits of course).

There is no limit to the number of players so please join in, the more the merrier.  Please let us know if you are coming  so we know that there will be some members present.

Learn our Saturday comp scoring system (or have a refresher)

Paul will be running a learning session to teach interested members how to use the Saturday scoring system. You don’t need to be an opener to attend, the more members who know the system the better.

He will also teach the tournament scoring system used for external and our intraclub competitions. We need more members to learn how to score  in order to continue to provide competitions for members. The systems are easy, give it a go, learn something new.

Press the button below to sign up. Paul will set a date directly with those interested. Only basic computer skills required.

25th Anniversary Intraclub Tournament

We had a beautiful day out on the pistes, 32 players battled it out under bright blue skies, Congratulations to Sofima and Greg, our undefeated champions on the day.

In true CPC style, we finished the day with drinks and some nibbles, the perfect way to finish the tournament. Thanks to Bob and Paul who organised the competition.

Silver Anniversary dinner a sparkling affair

Our 25th Anniversary Dinner was a brilliant success. Many members decked out in silver splendour to add to the celebration. We had a delicious three course meal. The main course of Beef Burgundy was lovingly prepared by chefs: Pam, Myriam, Coleen, Kathy and Greg (our executive chef). The video prepared by Rex took us on an entertaining and informative journey through the club’s history, amazing work Rex.

Thanks to all the chefs and Faye and Noella also on the organising team and Leigh for the brilliant table decorations. Thanks to members who stayed back late to help with the clean up. Special mention to Kathy who organised the event. She makes it all look so easy when in fact oodles of thought and effort go into make these functions so successful.

Missing Eiffel Towers need to return home

JP and Di kindly lent us some silver Eiffel Towers for table decorations at the dinner. A couple of them went missing. If you picked one up believing them to be giveaways, please return it by leaving it in the office. Thanks in advance.

Cards are the perfect winter remedy

Games are held on the last Friday of every month from 3pm. Have fun, learn how to play, our games masters Leigh, Pam or Deidre are happy to show you how. The next cards session is Friday 29 August.
