MAIN RIDGE IS BEAUTIFUL

Rolling hills, winding roads, wineries, tall fir pines and pistes.
If you don't get down there often it comes as a delightful surprise.
Sunday was all blue skies and sunshine, a great day for a competition.

Main Ridge Petanque Club is in a charming setting and well provided with a bright, homely clubhouse shared with the Bowling Club.

Their pistes are something else though! If you think some of ours are challenging some of theirs have rocks the size of a boule sticking out of the ground - just where you want to land your boule.

MRPC staged an open triples competition last Sunday which attracted some of the States top players and a few of our members went there to have a go and show the flag.

Guy was playing with Marcial and Sue Rickaby, a CPC Social member.
They did well getting into the top 8 Principal and only being knocked out in the quarter finals.

Our other team was Vince, Robert and Mary D. They started well, emboldened by beating Guy's team in the first game and then, of course, immediately falling in a hole and loosing the next 3 games! But perseverance paid off and they came good after lunch winning all four games and coming 1st in the Consolante.
