Christmas doesn’t stop our card games
Come and play on the last Friday of every month from 3pm - even the Friday after Christmas. Have fun, learn how to play, our games masters Leigh, Pam or Deidre are happy to show you how. As usual, petanque play begins at 5.30 or you can play cards throughout the evening as you wish. The next games session is Friday 29 December…a lovely way to recover from the Christmas madness
The Tudor Choristers elevated our Christmas partying with a fine performance of everybody's favourite carols. Many party goers got into the spirit and sang along (probably not so in tune as the choir tho!). Thanks to David, chorister and CPC Member. https://www.tudorchoristers.org.au/
The Ladder for 2024 starts… now
The ladder competition for 2024 has officially commenced. The starting positions were unveiled at the Christmas party.
It’s never too late to join the competition, just write your name on one of the empty tags and place it in the bottom position. Remember to record your results and take a photo of the ladder (in case of an accident where the names fall off!) The rules can be viewed on the ladder whiteboard.
We will plan some regular “challenge days” to facilitate the competition throughout the year. And don't forget you can follow the ladder competition on our website. If you have questions or feedback, please contact Bob
Stay safe in the heat
It’s a great time of the year to play petanque but it’s also important to take extra care on those sunny summer days.
Wear closed-toe shoes to avoid injury, this is a mandatory requirement for play.
Stay hydrated
Seek shade (use our new umbrellas), wear a hat and suitable clothing.
Use sunscreen liberally and reapply often.

Let’s try for a public toilet near the Club
Council is currently preparing a Public Toilet Strategy to set out how to provide a network of public toilets that are conveniently located, accessible, and cleaned and maintained to a high standard. This could be a good way to eventually get a toilet nearby (it would be great for those playing on non game days).
Council is conducting a survey through the Engage Boroondara site to inform this strategy. The survey is open through to 9am on Monday 5 February 2024. Give it a go. It will only take a few minutes, here is the link.
